Shankar Mahadevan Mesmerizes Audience at ‘Sur ‘n’ Symphony’

shankarBengaluru: Sankara Eye Hospital, one of the premier eye hospitals in the country dedicated towards making India visually wealthy blindness organized ‘Sur ‘N’ Symphony’ – a fund-raising mega-musical event to raise money to free underprivileged kids from blindness. The event witnessed an electrifying ensemble of India’s loved artists like Shankar Mahadevan, V Selva Ganesh, Vidwan Vikku Vinayakram, Niladri Kumar and Taufiq Qureshi.

The versatile and dynamic artists tuned in tandem to create soulful, mesmerizing and astounding music for a noble cause. The event appealed to a vast variety of audience as each artist went beyond their forte to create music that’s extraordinary in nature.

Dr. Ramani, Founder & Managing Trustee of Sankara Eye Care Institutions said, “Miracles cannot cure the blind, but we can. The amount collected through the show will give people the gift of sight. We are extremely obliged and grateful to each and every artist who has taken time off from their busy schedule for a noble cause as this. Sankara ritually functions on the ‘See-Saw’ phenomenon wherein for every 1 child treated at Sankara, 4 are treated for free. This event has given a new lease of life to many who have never felt the warmth of light”.

Shankar Mahadevan spellbound the spectators with his performance captivating everyone with his soothing voice. The concert also featured a special segment on musical fusion by all the performing artists. The audience witnessed a solo percussion performance by Grammy award winner, Vidwan Vikku Vinayakram. The night also saw an enthralling Carnatic act by V Selva Ganesh on Kanjira. Taufiq Qureshi played a great line-up of self-composed tracks in tune with the tranquil mood of the evening.
