Jalvihar: There were no make up artists, stylists, choreographers and flashlights. But there was no dearth of attitude. In the first of its kind event, 100 plus mothers from various segments of society have come together to walk the ramp.

The Fashion was organized as part of the One Lakh hands for Mom initiative with support from Bharosa” –Support Center for Women & Children, She teams & Photo Trade Expo.

Bharosa –Support Center for Women & Children partnered with One lakh hands for Mom organizers the to create awareness about Bharosa activities & support for the women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace. The theme of the evening was ‘ Stronger the mother/ Stronger the family’ as the empowered women will be able to affectively deal with the social problems.

As per the national Health Survey 2016, Hyderabad ranked no 1 in women obesity cases in India. (Mothers are the most affected after childbirth). Lack of engagement activities at city level, infrastructure and lack of support from the family, stress are few reasons. Therefore, we have adopted ‘ Happy, Healthy & Strong Mother’ as a theme for our 2017 edition of one lakh hands campaign said Vishala Reddy, Founder Director of IdentCITY who has designed the project.

As part of this campaign, we are reaching out to One Lakh sons and daughters to sensitize about the cause who would then act as influencers to get their Mothers to adopt an active life style. Planning to conducts yearlong experiences/engagement activities in the areas of sports, arts & culture, entertainment, health and entrepreneurship areas to engage these enrolled mothers … said Jai Bharathi who is leading the OLH campaign.

We give a least priority to ourselves in terms of health & social life. We always think about families first. But we must know that if the Mother is happy & healthy, the entire family will be happy and healthy. We are happy to support this campaign which is focused on wellbeing of mothers… says, Dr. Mamatha Raghuveer, Tharuni NGO founder who works on women development initiatives.

Mrs.Universe Intelligence Abhimanika Yadav will grace the occasion & share some tips to the Mothers who will walk the ramp.
