Volume III of Jagate Thiba Jete Dina released

Report by Jyoti Prakash; Dhenkanal: The third volume of audio CD of Mrunal’s popular Odia column ‘Jagate Thiba Jete Dina’ has been released during a literary function held here on Thursday.

The latest volume was released by Dhenkanal based litterateur Jadumani Sahu during the literary fest ‘Shabdhanjali’ jointly organized by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal and the Dhenkanal District Writers’ Forum. The function was attended by poets, novelists and writers of the district and students of the institute.

Published by the Dhenkanal-based Sephali Communications, Mrunal’s literary work presents contemporary social issues in a satirical way. Mrunal is the pen name of Dr. Mrinal Chatterjee.
The printed version of the book was released in 2010. Its digital versions including audio CD and E-book were released subsequently the same year. The second volume of the digital format was launched in January last year.

The book consists of author’s collection of columns published in the leading Odia weekly Samaja Saptahika.

Dr. Chatterjee’s other Odia fictions including Nian (The Fire), Bharatpur ra Bagha (The Tiger of Bharatpur), Secretariat re Bagha (The Tiger in the Secretariat) and Orissa O Ananya Galpa ( Orissa and other stories).

His other literary works include Brutta O Ananya Galpa (The Circle and other stories), Shakti (The Power), Bhala achha Nabaghana?(Are you well Nabaghana?), and Sani Mandira Samnare Saat Bhikari (Seven Beggers in front of Sani Temple).
