jioMumbai: The employee launch of Jio, one of the world’s largest digital initiative, held at the Reliance Corporate Park on Dec 27 – the eve of the 83rd Birth Anniversary of the group’s Founder Chairman Dhirubhai Ambani – saw many a first.
Never before had there been such a mammoth employee launch in the history of Corporate India. By throwing open the Jio services to all its business partners, and itsvast number of employees and their families spread all across India, RIL will be making the optimal use of human resources to ensure that the last and the slightest wrinkle would be smoothed out to perfection before Jio launches its all-India commercial services. Nothing is being left to chances. It is a glowing testimony to the company’s commitment to provide consumers with an exhaustively tried and tested, highest quality digital services.
All employees of RIL, its group companies, Jio and its partners totalling more than one lakh, every single one of them, spread across various locations and geographies, were simultaneously initiated into the Jio Digital Life. The motto of – One India. One RIL. One Jio. One for all and all for one, resounded at the event.
India is a land of diversity. It is one huge melting pot of myriad of cultures. RIL too is a miniature India. It has people from all walks of life, from various backgrounds working for it. With this employee launch, Jio became the one common strand that runs through every single employee, entwining them together.
All levels of employees were invited for the event; from colleagues in office to family at home – Jio will encompass all and sundry.
The Old Reliance, the traditional projects &production powerhouse (B2B), joined hands with the New Reliance, the consumer-facing business of retail & digital services, to celebrate the employee launch of Jio, which elevated all of them together on to a common digital platform where they will be living the same Digital Life.
1000+ locations, 1 in the US: While 35,000 Reliance employees and their families were physically present at the grand employee launch event at the Reliance Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai, 80,000 more were tuned into the event from 1,000-plus locations all across India, and one in faraway Dallas, Texas, in the US. Through two-way video conferencing, running on the Jio network, RIL Chairman & Managing Director Mukesh Ambani interacted with employees watching the event from distant places.

Digital townhalls of large corporates and multinationals usually involve only the top bosses. This is first time a company involved every single of its employees, from the lowest rung right to the top, and their families in the townhall. The world had never witnessed anything like this before.
