Gujarat CM released ‘Small but meaningful : CSR in practice’ book written by retired Odia IAS officer

10385409_935617776451235_341322390628761109_nGandhinagar: Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt Anandiben Patel released ‘Small but meaningful : CSR in practice’ book written by retired IAS officer, Shri Maheshwar Sahu and Shri Jeevan Prakash Mohanty that gives details of several CSR activities undertaken by various companies.

Talking about the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility in the development of Gujarat, CM Smt Patel said that simply adopting a village under CSR is not enough. Apart from providing funds, other important aspects of a village like education, nutrition, hygiene and health of people also need to be taken care of, she added. CM Smt Patel appealed the people to take interest and spend some time for instilling good habits and manners in the children of villages across Gujarat. She said that such dedicated efforts will only lead to true success of CSR activities.

CM Smt Patel said that Government of Gujarat is committed to the cause of welfare of the people belonging to all sections of the society. She appealed the people to contribute in the progress of the state, by various CSR activities, specially in three areas: coming up with automated kitchens under Akshay Patra, building 100% toilets across the state in next three years and ensuring eradication of malnutrition from Gujarat.

The book ‘Small but meaningful: CSR in practice’ talks about the need for corporate engagement with community, that in turn, complements the efforts of government in community development. It gives details of best practices of CSR activities initiated by various corporate houses.
