EEMAGINE 2016 – India Unimagined Global Convention commences in Delhi

indiaimagineNew Delhi: The EEMAGINE 2016: India Unimagined has commenced the three-day global convention at the hotel ‘The Grand’ in the capital today. Mr Kapil Mishra, Minister of Tourism, Govt of Delhi delivered the Keynote address where he announced that Delhi will have “Delhi Festival in the month of November on the lines of international festival like Edinburgh and Dubai Festival.
Sports being the main topic of discussion, eminent personalities like Saba Karim, Gautam Bhimani, Dhiraj Malhotra, & Harish Krishnamachar shared their view points on a panel discussion ‘The Business of Sports: – It’s time to play HU TU TU’.
The evening opened with some food for thought on how events have become an integral part of everything about entertainment. With an opening speech of Sabbas Joseph – President EEMA and the welcome speech of Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra the conclave got charged up on how Delhi government has been thankful to EEMA for making events in Delhi an easy game.
Minister of Tourism, Mr Kapil Mishra said, “ EEMA association has brought to the current government’s notice various glitches and problems that existed while organizing events. This association has shown us ways on how we can help event companies to bring the best to the country capital.”
Moving on to the topic of the day, the conclave discussed sports, entertainment and events with a panel discussion.
An era where entertainment has become the major criteria to attract and entice audience to enjoy an event, the panel discussion aimed at how to attract audiences to sports where the viewership of sports is as low as 2.5 % amongst all the other category. The panel discussion highlighted major features of the successful sports entities like IPL, Pro Kabbadi and Hockey League.
Speaking more about the issue, Gautam Bhimani, Sports Anchor raised a major point saying, “ It is important that we take sports to a very different level today where it is just not about the sports but make it an experience of entertainment, excitement, management and innovations to retain its audiences and garner new viewership.”
Saba Karim, Former Cricketer and Indian Selector, stressed on the fact saying, “The success of the sports is very important for it to attract audiences. With more medals, trophies and titles audience are bound to get attracted to the sport.”
Talking about the initiative, EEMA President, Sabbas Joseph, says, “On this stage we would like to bring forward various opportunities that India has not imagined and highlight the role the event industry can play and image. It is about creating the new India of our dreams. With this event we are taking the responsibility and opportunity to partner with government to reimagine India with art culture, entertainment and sports at its heart influencing the fabric of our country.”
The second day of the conclave will witness eight sessions throughout the days, dedicated to various topics from advertising and marketing industry, with case studies and reports. Sumit Sawhney, Managing Director and CEO of Renault India will be one of the key highlight speakers of the day, as he would present the winning story of how innovation became the key to growth for Renault India.
FICCI Frames Media and Entertainment reports will also be presented by Girish Menon, Partner KPMG. Issues on copyright and licensing will be another hot discussion with Kabir Khan, Director of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, speaking to the audience. A panel discussion on Emerging Rights Paradigm: Copyright and Licensing will also be witnessed, comprising eminent panel members like Abhishek Malhotra, Founder, AMT Law, Pradeep Jaiswal, Managing Director, Novex, Mukesh Bhatt, President Film & Television Producers Guild, Sanjay Tandon, President, ISRA. and will be moderated by Atul Churamani. The Founder of Turnkey Music & Publishing.
Apart from these, day two will also see some discussions on Emerging Trends in Social Events with a panel discussion with Geeta Samuel, Founder Director, Q Events PVT LTD, Vijay Arora, Managing Director, Touchwood Events PVT LTD, Samit Garg, Founder Director, e- Factor Entertainments PVT. LTD, Neelabh Kapoor, Founder Director, Studio Neelabh and Rajeev Jain, Director, Rashi Entertainment. The day will also see discussions on Growing Business: Scaling Heights by Arvind Vohra, Managing Director, Gionee.
Panel discussion on EDC – International Festival by John Boyle, Chief Growth Officer and Interim CFO, Insomniac will be a topic of discussion.
EEMAGINE 2016 on its third day will take up discussions on entertainment, bringing the best of the industry together. The key media attraction at the conclave on the day will be Sanjay Dutt, actor, who will share his inspirational story in the session, Sanjay Dutt on Sanjay Dutt.
The day will also see discussions on Smart Cities – Art Cities, with eminent panelist including Amitabh Kant, CEO NITI Aayog and former Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) – Government of India, Arun Maira, Former Member of Planning Commission of India, Malvika Singh, Advisor to CM Rajasthan for arts and culture, Valsa Nair Singh, Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Government of Maharashtra, sharing their views.
Apart from that, panel discussions on Priceless Experiences: Case Studies with Femina Miss India, Rohit Gopakumar, Jaideep Singh, Music-based IPs, Preeta Singh, Jaipur Literature Festival and Vivek Singh of Mumbai Marathon discussing it in details.
Panel discussion on Connecting the World, with Rajan Anandan, Vice President & Managing Director of Google, South East Asia & India; Youth Marketing Revisited, with Sumeli Chatterjee, VP-Marketing and Insights, Manu Seth, Senior Director-Marketing, HTC will be other major highlights of the evening.
All the three nights will also witness performances by artists like Mame Khan, Sajid Wajid and Rekha Bharadwaj, Raftaar and many other artists
Adding more to the initiative, Rajeev Jain, Vice President, EEMA said “ EEMAGINE – 2016 is larger than life focusing on sessions ranging from sports, technology, weddings and private events, and the challenges facing the industry due to copyright laws among few things. World class entertainment with renowned names like Sajid Wajid, Mame Khan, Raftaar, Urvashi Rautela and Usha Uthup will be among th talent on view. This will be the first time EEMA would honour and award various partners and associates from the backstage fraternity in the EEMA SPOTLIGHT AWARDS which has never been done before.”
Following the grand convention, EEMA honours backstage heroes in a ‘Spotlight’ awards on the 3rd May at Veda, Bijwasan.
Additionally, Manish Sisodia, Deputy CM, Delhi will be delivering the keynote address at the first ever Spotlight Awards to be held at the Veda on May 3.
