Report by Santanu Ganguly; New Delhi: The Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Foundation was established in 1986, to commemorate the memory of Second Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri who was a great patriot and a staunch nationalist.

The year 2012 will be celebrated by the foundation as ‘Silver Jubilee Year’. During this period we would like to concentrate on increasing various categories of members and will also establish foreign chapters of Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Foundation.

During the celebrations, we intend to organise Seminars on vital issues of national importance, Workshops, Awareness Camps, Exhibitions, Cultural Events and Panel discussion by Indian and International educationist.

The construction work of Lal Bahadur Shastri International School at Jaipur, Lal Bahadur Shastri High School at village Rana Nangla District Bijnor and Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical Center at village Bhat Kheri District Saharanpur are in progress and is expected to be completed in 2012.
The foundation has been working with full dedication and devotion towards the ideals of Shastriji from past 25 years was paid great tribute by the Chief Guest of the function Smt. Sheila Dixit, Hon’ble Chief Minister of NCT of Delhi.

The Bhojpuri Geet Sandhya attained its height with performance by renowned artist which was held today at Nehru Memorial Auditorium, Teen Murti, New Delhi. Shri Sunil Shastri, President, Lal Bahabur Shastri Memorial Foundation welcomed the guests and other dignitaries.
