Djokovic beats Rafael Nadal to win 2012 Australian Open

Defending champion Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal in an epic five-set in Australian Open final. Final lasted over5hr 53min, the longest title match in grand slam history.The previous longest Australian Open match was the 2009 semifinal between Nadal and Fernando Verdasco, which lasted 5hr 14min.

Nadal started well by winning the first set by 7-5 but loosing the streak completely in second and third set. Djokovic's return to deep of Nadal's court brought him much success.Nadal saved three break points in the eighth game of the fourth set then waited out a 10-minute rain break before he levelled the match by taking the fourth set 7-6.

The fifth set was well balanced and in one stage Nadal was 4-2 ahead but Djokovic broke Nadal once and hold his serve to back to match and win the championship with score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.

Djokovic beaten Nadal in their last seven meetings, all in finals.Djokovic won the Australian open in 2008 and 2011, has now won five Grand Slam titles in total.
