Chief Minister of Delhi CM has Close Interaction with NCC Cadets
New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs Sheila Dikshit had an hour long visit to the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp here today. Addressing the cadets Smt. Dikshit said that NCC provides a perfect stage to the youth to groom their capabilities. She further said that every year remarkable progress in NCC activities are being noted. She also asked the DG NCC Lt. Gen PS Bhalla to expand the ambit of NCC so that more and more youth could be attracted and get benefited from it.
She also lauded the cadets for their amazing performance in diverse fields such as drill, presentations, articulation, crafts skills in aeromodelling / shipmodelling and cultural programmes etc. The CM expressed her gratitude for the great show put up for her by the budding leaders of tomorrow. Conveying lavish praises to the NCC, the premier youth organisation, she exhorted its members to continue the dynamic mission of nurturing the tender youth and grooming them to take on the mantle of the countries leadership.
The Chief Minister was given an impressive Guard of Honour by a mixed contingent of smartly turned out young cadets. A NCC Boys Band from Sainik School, Kapurthala performed a very fine Band Display by playing melodious martial tunes. Their enchanting tunes and lithe movements earned big applause from one and all. The NCC had laid out tableaus from all Directorates that depicted the quintessential politico-socio-cultural nuances of all states. Here, very young boy and girl cadets crisply briefed an all attentive CM about their respective Sandmodels and Collages.
The versatile NCC cadets had also pieced together a superlative cultural performance. The programme included two group dances and a ballet which brought to the fore the vast talent of the cadets. While the group dances from Delhi and Karnataka manifested the rich cultural heritage of our nation, the attraction of the day was the ballet based on the woes of the child labour. The powerful act refined to perfection moved the spectators into a somber mood.
Around 2,000 Cadets, both boys and girls drawn from 17 NCC Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories of the country, are participating in this RD Camp. The cadets will take part in a number of activities like Cultural, National Integration, Awareness and Institutional Training competitions during the nearly month long Republic Day Camp.
