Andhra Pradesh CM says R&R package of the State Government is the best in the country

Hyderabad: The Chief Minister Mr.N.Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that the R&R package of the State Government is the best in the country. He was addressing a large number of people from Dharmapuri constituency of Karimnagar District at the Camp Office here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that displaced families and families affected under irrigation projects are being provided with various benefits which are the best in the entire country. In rural areas house sites with an area of 202 sq mts and 75 sq mts in urban areas are provided.

An amount of Rs 5000 is provided towards transportation charges, he added. Referring to other financial benefits, the Chief Minister said that a sum of Rs.15,000 is provided for cattle-shed, Rs 25,000 is provided for construction of workshed and shops, Rs 10,000 for land development in respect of one hectare waste and degraded land and Rs 5000 for agriculture in one hectare of wet land. He also announced that an amount of Rs 53,000, in addition to the IAY grant, will be given as house construction grant for BPL families. 2.5 hectare of dry land or 1.25 hectare of wet land will be allotted in lieu of the land acquired. Dwelling upon the wages to be paid to the project affected families, the Chief Minister said that minimum agricultural wages will be paid to all the displaced families. 750 days wages will be paid if the land owner becomes landless after land acquisition and no land is allotted in lieu of the acquired land. 500 days wages will be paid if the land owner becomes marginal farmer after the land acquisition. 375 days wages will be paid if after acquisition land owner becomes small farmer. 625 days wages will be paid to the agriculture labour. 240 days wages will be paid as subsistence allowance to the displaced families.

500 days wages will be paid to non tribal project affected family who is a member of a registered fishermen cooperative society or fishing license holder in the affected zone who lost fishing rights and livelihood shall get additional financial assistance. A monthly pension of Rs 500 will be paid to vulnerable persons. The tribals and other communities residing in the project affected areas having fishing rights in the rivers, ponds and dams shall be given fishing rights in the reservoir, the Chief Minister said. The project affected families of Scheduled Tribes have been given special R&R benefits.

The government shall acquire 2.5 hectares of dry or 1.25 hectares of wet land or to the extent of land acquired whichever is lower in the project benefitted area in lieu of acquired land. 500 days additional financial assistance will be provided to the tribals for loss of their customary rights and usage of forest produce. They will also get 25 % higher R&R benefits in monetary terms if they are resettled outside the district or outside the tribal area, the Chief Minister said. Minister for Civil Supplies D.Sridhar Babu, former ZP Chairman Lakshman Rao and several others were present on the occasion.
