Andhra Pradesh CM asks officials to complete 252 JnNURM Projects completed on schedule
Hyderabad: The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy today asked the officials to complete all the 252 projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) costing Rs.12,230 crs. right on schedule. Andhra Pradesh stands second highest in the country for getting maximum funds sanctioned under the JnNURM. The Chief Minister congratulated the MA&UD officials and asked them to complete the works with clear milestones.
Municipal Administration Minister Mr. M Maheedhar Reddy, MLAs Mr Malladi Vishnu, Mr Vijayakumar and Mr. Venkataramiah, Mayors of Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam Mr. Mohd. Majid Hussain and Mr. P Janardhan Rao, Principal Secretary, MA&UD, Mr Sam Bob, Commissioner, HMDA, Rajesh Tiwari, MD, APIIC, B R Meena, Principal Secretary, R&B, S P Singh, MD, APSRTC, Prasada Rao, Commissioner, GHMC, M T Krishna Babu, Commissioner, GVMC, B.Ramanjaneyulu, Commissioner, VMC, Ravi Babu and other officials attended the meeting.
Officials explained that out of 125 towns in the State, 89 are covered including the mission cities of Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati under the JnNURM. Out of the Rs.12,230 crs. total cost of the projects, Government of India share is Rs.6429 crs., A.P. Govt. share is Rs.1816 crs, Urban bodies/beneficiaries share is Rs.3984 crs. They said that out of the 252 projects, 78 are 75% completed, 50 are more than 50% completed, 31 are more than 25-50% completed and 17 projects less than 25% completed. Under housing, 1,79,217 houses are sanctioned, 1,10,251 are completed and 28,864 are at roof level. The steering committee meeting approved the revised Musi revitalisation project in GHMC due to addition of 2 rubber dams across Musi and Bridges across Hussainsagar Surplus Nala and Musi.
Revised Pilot Projects for construction of 544 houses and infrastructure in Paradesipalem and also construction of another Project of 2080 houses and infrastructure in Paradesipalem and construction of 3360 houses and infrastructure in Padepeta and Avilala-1 in Tirupati and one Project at Dall Mill area and another Project at NSC Bosenagar (subject to consent by beneficiaries) in Vijayawada. The Chief Minister also approved procurement of 125 additional buses to Hyderabad and 155 additional buses to Tirupati utilising the overall savings of Additional Central Assistance available to the State. It was also decided that the work of Project Management Consultancy Services for construction of Road over Bridge/Flyover including approaches on Calcutta Railway line at Railway Km 435/33-35 between Gunadala and Mustabad to be entrusted to the Railways by depositing the required funds. The officials informed that Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are the only two States selected for the Slum Free City Plan under the Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY). The meeting discussed various slum development projects being taken up by the GHMC, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Municipal Corporations including the integrated development of various urban infrastructure projects at Surya Teja Nagar slum in GVMC under the Rajiv Awas Yojana.
