Centre gives Rs 3050 crore to drought-hit Maharashtra, Rs 2033 crore to Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra

s2015122975068New Delhi: The Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting of the High Level Committee (HLC) here today for Central Assistance to States affected by drought.

The Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Vice-Chairman NITI Aayog Shri Arvind Panagariya, Minister of State for Finance, Shri Jayant Sinha, Union Home Secretary Shri Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officers of the Ministries of Home, Finance and Agriculture attended the meeting.

The Committee examined the proposals based on the report of the Central Team which visited the affected states by severe drought. The HLC approved the assistance from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) in respect of Madhya Pradesh to the tune of Rs 2033 crore and Rs 3050 crore for Maharashtra.
