Bhubaneswar: With the concerted effort of Tata Steel and Pathani Samanta Planetarium, School children of Odisha are now collating their thoughts on moving in and around the galaxy.

The final camp of the Young Astronomer Talent Search (YATS)-2011, organized by Tata Steel in collaboration with the Pathani Samanta Planetarium, is scheduled to be held on 12th - 13th December, 2011.

The young aspirants from various schools in the state would compete among themselves for the top twenty slots in the state. “My Dream Spacecraft” has been selected as the topic for this year.

Report by Pravuprasad Routray; Bhubaneswar: Orissa government today said that Posco-India could easily start its work for the mega-steel project over 2,000 acres acquired land. This way said by Chief Secretary Bijay Kumar Patnaik.

He said today said Posco-India could easily start its work over 2,000 acres so far acquired to set up its proposed mega steel plant near Paradip. Stating that the South Korean steel major wanted about 4,000 acre of land, the Chief Secretary pointed out that 2,000 acres was not a small patch.

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has completed the first five months of the current fiscal by continuing the growth tempo in production performance. The plant has produced 9,28,488 tonnes of Hot Metal, 8,78,073 tones of total crude steel and 8,56,280 tones of total saleable steel during April-August period registering capacity utilisation of 110.8%, 110.2% and 122.2% respectively, RSP sources said.

Report by OrissaDiary.com correspondent; Bhubaneswar: Orissa Health Department confirms 37 samples found Dengue positive today. The department release says the death toll remains 19 as no more deaths reported today till now.

Today 98 samples were tested in SCB & Capital Hospital. Out of 93 samples tested in SCB 37 samples found Dengue positive . Similarly out of 5 samples tested in Capital Hospital NO Dengue positive found. Out of this 37 cases Angul-15/Balasore-1/Sundergarh-1/Cuttack-4/Dhenkanal-4/Jagatsinghpur-3/Jajpur-4/Jharsuguda-2/Khurda-2/Bhadrak-1.

Report by Pravuprasad Routray; Bhubaneswar: Orissa Government to provide new ration cards for each family soon. This was announced by Food supplies and consumer welfare minister Sarada Prasad Nayak on Saturday at the state assembly.

He said that the state government has decided to provide ration cards to all households soon if the Centre makes further delay in finalising the norms for selection of BPL families.

Report by Suchismita Sahoo; Bhubaneswar: Orissa health and family welfare minister Prasanna Acharya says no need to declare dengue as epidemic in state. Acharya said this while replying to an adjournment motion debate in the State Assembly here.

Rejecting Congress demand to declare dengue as an epidemic in the state, the Odisha government on Saturday claimed the deadly mosquito-borne disease had been detected in 465 districts spread over 20 states in the country.
