Mr. Vimal Anand, MD, Apis India also participated as a speaker in the session on Navigating the food retail and supermarkets landscape where dignitaries discussed the changing food consumption patterns and changing consumer need for convenience, choice and value for money, the set up of retail formats in the country are also changing.
During the discussion Mr. Vimal Anand, MD, Apis India said, “A lot of credit should also be given to the manufacturing sector, which actually works on the psychology of the consumer and tries to address the need. 20 years back who would have thought that an oats or a cornflakes could also be at the breakfast table but a manufacturer had the courage to test and introduce it in the market. I believe not only the consumer has evolved but the manufacturer has also paved a path for changing consumer behavior.”
He added, “Retail & manufacturers work closely on a partnership basis and it should be profitable to both. A sustainable model should be worked out where both retail & manufacturers can profitably coexist.”
Spokespeople from Safal, Gits Food, Tata Chemicals, Savemax Hypermarket, Oetker India etc also participated in the session. India Food Forum is unarguably India’s most exciting and forward looking knowledge sharing venue for food, grocery and FMCG brands, distributors, marketers, grocery retailers and foodservice companies.
