AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar to host ‘Cyclothon’ to observe World Heart Day 2016
Bhubaneswar: AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, Eastern India’s largest chain of Super Speciality Tertiary care hospitals, is going to organize a ‘Cyclothon’ on 28th September 2016 to celebrate the upcoming “WORLD HEART DAY 2016”. The event will witness massive participation of over 150 cycling enthusiasts from different age groups and diverse walks of life. The Cyclothon will be flagged off by Mr. Niranjan Sahu, District Collector, Khorda . The Cyclothon will start from the RTO Ground, Patia near IOCL Corporate office at 6.30am on 28th September’2016 (One Day before the World Heart Day). To commemorate the occasion, AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar has also introduced a special Cardiac Screening Package @ Rs. 999/-. This special offer will remain valid till 15th October 2016.
According to World Heart Federation, “Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death and disability in the world, killing 17.5 million people a year. That’s a third of all deaths on the planet and half of all non-communicable-disease-related deaths. Around 80% of these deaths are in low- and middle-income countries where human and financial resources are least able to address the CVD burden”.
World Heart Day is a campaign established to spread awareness about the health of heart among common people all through the world. This initiative was founded in the year 2000 to inform people to take care of their heart. A huge percentage of common public in the society is suffering from the heart diseases like stroke, heart attack, heart failure, etc. Heart problems are the leading causes of death in the world. World Heart Day is an annual event which takes place on 29 September every year. Each year’s celebrations have a different theme, reflecting key issues and topics relating to heart health.
